Nave Italia: Routes to Healthy Longevity

The projects with Tender to Nave Italia involve the design, implementation, and evaluation of psychosocial and experiential interventions combined with the Nave Italia Method.
These projects are aimed at older adults and/or late adults with particular psychological, social, and relational vulnerabilities, which are risk factors for personal development and the aging process. The primary goal is to reorient potentially risky aging trajectories through actions aimed at increasing emotional well-being, quality of life, relational, psychomotor, and individual self-determination skills in an integrated intervention, considering the possibilities of enhancing these through the travel experience.
The projects include five days of navigation on a brigantine-schooner (Nave Italia), during which participants are immersed in seafaring life through alternating psychosocial, motor, and onboard activities, in the presence of personnel from the Italian Navy. The activities aim to improve participants' quality of life, promote or restore their autonomy in daily life, and regenerate possibilities for healthy longevity.
